A BOLDRIGHT Client Story: The Survivor’s Journey

Every client shifts our lives in some way. If they don't, we're not tackling the work we could be. The Survivor's Journey story is a beautiful example of how client work is more than transactional for us at MYNDDSET. I encourage you to learn more about John Yoder's story on the Survivor's Journey website. Today, I want to share the value of being BOLDRIGHT. If you missed my post about the meaning of BOLDRIGHT, take a few moments to read "Rethinking the THINK BIG Culture" for a definition and then come back. Here's the story of John's BOLDRIGHT moment.

After one of our live-audience podcast episodes, John came to me with his idea to launch a podcast to support cancer survivors and those around them. His plan to buy a digital recorder and start recording from his home office seemed equal parts "right" and "impossible." John's idea was bigger than a homemade podcast, bigger than a standalone podcast. He had a boldright idea and needed support to bring it to life.

John and I dove into the work to clarify his vision and the capacity he needed to bring it to life. To achieve his aim, John shifted his mindset from "I'm going to be a podcast host" to "I'm going to lead a unique non-profit organization dedicated to survivorship." That shift re-envisioned his podcast as a vital tool for creating the experience he knew many couldn't find while expanding the potential for making the impact needed through a well-established non-profit organization.

John is busy seeking and receiving funding and support for his BOLDRIGHT efforts around survivorship studies, practices, and services. The podcast will launch in a few months as a part of the complete system John had in mind when we first talked. The magic of our work is helping clients see their vision clearly enough to act boldly and in the right way for them (being BOLDRIGHT).

Congratulations, John. Your story enables us to tell ours THROUGH you. Thank you for that.
